Examine the essential first steps for understanding the sustainability context and sustainability reporting. This course comprises four modules, each one with a range of learning activities for you to complete.

In this learning module you will join the GRI learning community and consider the sustainability challenge: The urgent need for all of us to move to more sustainable ways of living and doing business. You will also start to define your own/organization’s sustainability issues.

Sustainability reporting
In this module you will find out what sustainability reporting is and why it is important. You will also consider the value that sustainability reporting can bring to your organization and the impact organizations of every size can have in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) .
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
Module 3
GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)
Here you will find out what GRI is and how it has developed its global standards for sustainability reporting. You will be able to explore the GRI Standards: how they are structured and the main steps that organisation use to put them into practice.

In this final module, you will learn about good practices to help you get started with reporting. You will also start to identify topics which are material to your organization and will find out about the GRI Support Suite to help you get started.
