Systems-Inspired Leadership

We are living in turbulent, chaotic, and complex times. The traditional leadership practices that worked well in many circumstances in the past are no longer working as effectively in a hyper-connected world.

In this new reality, as coaches, we are putting systems innovation into practice. Yet there are many constraints and uncertainty that stop us in our tracks when we work with complex systems, such as organizations, governments, or entire socio-technical systems.

In this hands-on training, we learn a leadership practice that helps us make meaning, take action, and monitor success when working with complex adaptive systems.

This Train-the-Trainer course takes place within the frame of the Climate-KIC Network of Climate Coaches. Interested to learn more about the Network of Coaches? Have a look here.

Module 1

Day 2 - June 2 | 15-17 CET

The world is changing, and you and your organization and team must change, too. Today's disruptions pose social, personal, policy, financial, resource and technological challenges, and the old ways of doing things don’t work anymore.

Module 2

Day 3 - June 4 | 15-17 CET

Learn to decide and take action when you have incomplete information, when you are not in control, and when the rules change every day. Learn the difference between the challenges of usual change and VUCA transformation.

Module 3

Day 4 - June 5 | 10-12 CET

In times of uncertainty, answers have a very short shelf-life. You have to rely on questions to guide you and your team through turbulent times. Your power as a leader, in the world of the future, will be measured by the quality of the questions you ask.

Module 4

Day 5 - June 8 | 10-12 CET

How do you set priorities when everything seems urgent? How do you make time to reflect and respond, when everything comes at you at once?

Module 5

Day 6 - June 10 | 10 - 12 CET

In times of change, challenge and surprise bring opportunity. It also brings conflict and frustration. We think of conflict as a kind of tension, and tension as a source for energy. See what it means to surface and use the energy in conflict, rather than ignoring it or finding some false peace.

Module 6

Day 7 - June 23 | 10 - 12 CET

Bring your most complicated dilemmas and leave with practical steps to shift your team and organization toward greater health and productivity.
