Welcome to the Green Bonds for Cities e-learning course

Cities play a vital role in addressing climate change. However, they can find it challenging to access the capital necessary to help meet this goal.

Where there is challenge, there is opportunity! Green bonds offer cities and municipalities access to low-cost capital to finance ‘green’ projects (such as low-carbon, climate-resilient and/or sustainability-oriented infrastructure projects). The green bonds market has experienced exponential growth since it began in 2008, with issuances of green bonds typically oversubscribed by investors.
