Hello,
I expect to learn and understand e-waste management as a global phenomenon, specially in the context of low and middle income country like Nepal, where the e-waste waste generated are not in bulk and the local government does not have resource or expertise to handle e-waste.

Academically, I am an Electronics and Communication Engineer. However, as a waste management enthusiast, I have been working as a Project Manager in municipal waste management project in two small municipalities with population under 50,000.

Looking forward to learn and connect with interesting people.

Hello Everyone,

I'm Jesutofunmi studying Zoology(Environmental toxicology and conservation). This of course an interest of knowing about any thing or material that poses any considerable threat on the environment.

I really hope to learn so much including the present condition of this increasing menace, to its underlying effects on the environment and subsequently humans, and most importantly methods of fighting the problem.

I hope at the end of this mooc, I'll be able to come up with a project to fight the menace in developing country like Nigeria, which serves as a major dumping area for used and end of life EEE without facilities to recycle them

My professional expectations are to contribute to local authorities in my country, Mexico, to plan and give the complete ideas for a municipal solid waste magement that not involves only organic and inorganic waste, but also e-waste. Some areas of the country have no municipal solid waste magament, so e-waste is out of their sight. And in some other areas e-waste is just beginning to be considered so there are no much policies yet. The present course is going to help me to promote new policies for e-waste management to local autorithies and to promote it´s value to recicling companies

Hi. I know very little about E-Waste in my country and as a worldwide phenomenon. With this course I hope to get an insight into the size of the issue, how it's being dealt with and what can be done in the future - specially, what can I do in the future about this in my city, or at least in my neighbourhood. :)

Actually, I do have a bunch of E-Waste in my house that I refuse to just throw away without knowing where the hell it is going. I'm not completely sure that municipal authorities have a plan for this.

Anyway, I wish to learn, to get an overview of the problem and figure out how to help.

Hi I am Claudia,
I hope to learn about the composition of e- waste, its impacts and what actions can be taken to minimize them. Also what are the current trends for its correct treatment and some actions or projects that are carried out in other countries.

Hi all!

I am here for two things:

1. To have a better understanding of the type of waste that I participate in creating (being a part of my job and all).
2. To meet good and like minded people who are struggling to achieve a common goal -- A clean and healthy environment for all

Hello everybody !! :)

I'm so glad for discovering this MOOC about E-waste! I'm a Chemical Engineering student from Madagascar. And I've chosen e-waste disposal as a subject for my final year project. I'm still learning about the e-waste management in my country and I think there is a lot of work waiting for us to achieve sustainable e-waste management at the national level.

I'm highly interested about urban mining, done in an environmentally friendly manner. I hope this MOOC will give clear answers to the questions I encounter during my research on e-waste : the quantity of e-waste generated (in developing countries and in developed countries), the negative impacts of e-waste on health and environment, the e-waste legislations, the sustainable process for e-waste disposal (mostly for the hazardous e-fractions like batteries, motherboards, etc.)...

Thanks for your support ! ;)

Thanks for Birds of Prey CostumeBirds of Prey Costume, particularly ones that help to start instructors. This will be invaluable. This has been exactly what I expected to get engaged and give me the certainty to set aside the effort to dive deep with desires in the initial barely any weeks.
