If you believe that we should be 'keeping fossil fuels in the ground' and support renewable energy. What actions can we all take to give people a 'compelling story' for why we need change?
- petitions, emails, letters, social media are all options...

Please share here any ideas and initiatives you've found for taking action,
and paste in any links to petitions or sites that others may find inspiring.

Support (or even set up) events that promote renewables, especially Solar... have attached a link from the 'filmsforaction' website (also a good source of inspiration) on:

Sol Cinema- World's Smallest Solar Powered Movie Theatre.

Both a great use (and evidence) for ways of using Solar Energy - and a great way to promote the technology also.

Any ideas on how to adapt this approach for other ideas/events?

Task 1 - what actions can we take to drive change?
Answer:
It is difficult to sum up the actions required for the changes as the first and foremost need is to not only incorporate environment in to the other fields of life but to compel people to take effective measures for sustaining life.
Now is the time that we learn to depend on renewable energy resources and to learn methods to reduce our energy requirements.
If every person will take initiatives at his/her level to combat environmental issues, the possibilities of returning of life will maximize.

I believe a bottom-up approach works, starting with the individual in his/her personal capacity and climbing up towards getting ouncil/governmnet involved.

i firmly believe that we should keep fossil fuel in the ground until we have better technology that will help us exploit and make use of it in highly environmental friendly ways.

when it comes to driving change, I think that we will need a plethora of approaches for examples, carbon tax and even tax breaks for companies and multinationals. also we can introduce so some of tax breaks for individuals and homes making better energy choices. this will help drive attitudinal change.
there is also technology, how far we progress has always been a function of the technology at our disposal. if we technology that will make nuclear energy more safer than what we have now, then its a good alternative to fossil fuel on the one hand. on the other it appears that we have to find better ways of harnessing the suns energy. this is important because energy demand is bound to increase and the one source that we know of that can meet this demand is solar hence the only questions are how do we harness, store and make use of it more effectively

Change is the process by which other people's ideas are accepted. Therefore, it will always be a difficult process, especially in large multinational organizations. There will always be people who understand the logic and purpose of change and buy immediately. These people are called early adopters. There will be convincing people. Known as the early or late majority. For these individuals, it is a matter of time and depends on the intensity, consistency, and frequency of the change message, including key actions demonstrated by leaders within the organization driving the change.
